About the course
Threading is a manual method of hair removal similar to plucking. Twisted cotton thread is passed across the skin to catch the hairs, removing them from their follicles. Threading is a simple, cheap and an efficient way of removing unwanted hair with minimal pain. Very short hair can be removed and there is little irritation to the skin in the area making it possible to go over the area more than once to create a clean fresh finish each and every time. A 100% anti-bacterial cotton thread is used which allows strength but resilience during the technique whilst reducing the risk of infection to the skin and hair follicle.
Threading is mainly performed on the smaller areas of the body, mostly the face e.g. upper lip, eyebrows, chin, sides of face, nose, ears, neck and forehead but can be used all over the body.
During the course you will learn how to thread unwanted hair using all 3 main techniques, hand, neck and mouth methods and upon completion you will be confident in using all 3 methods in all required areas. This course can be used towards the full VTCT Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy General.
